March 22, 2024

I turned 59 yesterday

I turned 59 yesterday.

Life whizzes past faster than you can imagine.

Live in a subsidized senior apartment, 1 bedroom, balcony, I rent my parking space to another tenant, I have a bicycle and a scooter.

Air Force for 30 years, now a night janitor at a government building, in a major US city.

Never married, never dated, almost had sex with a prostitute, but my self respect stopped me.

What is Medical School Like?

March 21, 2024

What is medical school like

First Year

The first year out of college is probably the hardest. You have to learn to adjust to the new life of studying more diligently and giving up many of the small joys and freedoms you’ve come to enjoy in undergrad. The workload is pretty high, and you’ll most likely spend a majority of your time either in class or studying. You learn the language of medicine and begin to use weird words like proximal, superior, anterior and distal in non medical sentences without noticing.
