Confessions of a Boxer Who Killed His Opponent in the Ring

April 10, 2024

How did you accidentally kill your opponent?

I honestly think the fight was rigged in my favor i even talked about this with my dad.

I came into the fight at 6’4 and 248lbs while my opponent was 5’11 and around 220, sure some fighters are ligther but it was fairly unusual to have an almost 30lb difference, coupled with the fact he was younger, less experienced and overall not a very good fighter.

April 10, 2024

  1. “It sounds to me like you are trying to convince yourself to stay with your girlfriend. I’m not so sure it should be so difficult.” At the time he said this, I remember it was like he said “the earth is flat.” I thought he was crazy when he suggested relationships don’t need to be difficult. But eventually I started to realize I was trying to change myself in order to stay with this person rather than just being who I am. It took me 3 more months to finally break up with her but from that day on, I vowed to never again abandon myself just to be with someone I had convinced myself was better than me.

Confessions Of A Golden Gate Bridge Jumper AND Survivor

April 9, 2024

What was so bad in your life that got you to the point of jumping?

It was a number of things! I’ve struggled with debilitating pain since I was 13 and depression, anxiety, and complex PTSD since I was 15 so that’s what the suicidal ideation was but two weeks before my psychiatrist at the time doubled my antidepressants (very bad idea) which threw me into a manic episode. I ended up dropping my savings on tattoos and then jumping off the bridge in a week.

15 Homeowners Reveal the Most Ludicrous Quote They Ever Received from a Contractor

April 4, 2024

ridiculous_quotes

1. I had to call a plumber because a toilet float was busted and I couldn’t remove it no matter how hard I tried. They came and “found” all sorts of things “wrong” and quoted me almost $4k. A quick visit to Google and 1 phone-a-friend showed that they were full of sheet. I finally had to break the overflow tube to get it off but successfully replaced it for $15.

It was replacing whole toilet and completely (and unnecessarily) disassemble the bathroom and main drain (loo, sink, shower) to “bring it to code.”

April 1, 2024

1. I consider it cheating and pick partners who do not indulge in porn. My boyfriend knows this boundary and accepts it. 1. He wished he had been a better father to his daughter. He wished they had reconnected. His dementia prevented him from remembering they had reconnected years before and that she visited often.

What is Medical School Like?

March 21, 2024

What is medical school like

First Year

The first year out of college is probably the hardest. You have to learn to adjust to the new life of studying more diligently and giving up many of the small joys and freedoms you’ve come to enjoy in undergrad. The workload is pretty high, and you’ll most likely spend a majority of your time either in class or studying. You learn the language of medicine and begin to use weird words like proximal, superior, anterior and distal in non medical sentences without noticing.

8 Residents of San Francisco Reveal What It’s Really Like To Live There

March 18, 2024

1. I’ve been living in SF since 2006 and homelessness has always been bad and very perceptible. So in a sense, what you’re experiencing has been the case even before 2021 for a long time. What’s bad though is that before the pandemic, SF was a city of trade offs: although it had a lot of problems with petty crime and homelessness, the bars were full, conventions were held weekly, the downtown happy hours were bustling, lots of energy in downtown, lots of young people doing activities, and more businesses were opening than closing. Now, all of the positive things are going away now.

So yeah, all the negative stuff about SF is known for like petty crimes and homelessness isn’t getting any worse, but the positive stuff has gotten a lot worse which makes the negative stuff harder to digest.
