I’m turning 90 and I’m truly and earnestly terrified to die.
I’m not ready.
I don’t want to die.
What’s It Like To Get Sucked Into A Black Hole?

Imagine, just for a moment, that you are aboard a spaceship equipped with a magical engine capable of accelerating you to any arbitrarily high velocity.
This is absolutely and utterly impossible, but it turns out it’ll be okay, for reasons you’ll see in a second.
Because you know your engine can push you faster than the speed of light, you have no fear of black holes.

That’s probably due to focal length.

Cultural Idiosyncrasy of the Day

In Japan 50% of men give all their money to their wives and get a monthly allowance
In Japan, there’s the salary you get from your company. And if you are a married man, there’s the salary you get from your wife. It’s called “okozukai”, which is sometimes translated as “pocket money”. Think of it as a husband salary.
The Importance Of Paying Yourself First

One of the oldest rules of personal finance is the simple admonition to pay yourself first. All the money books tell you to do it. All the personal finance blogs say it, too. Even your parents have given you the same advice.
But it’s hard. That money could be used someplace else. You could pay the phone bill, could pay down debt, could buy a new DVD player. You’ve tried once or twice in the past, but it’s so easy to forget. You don’t keep a budget, so when payday rolls around, the money just finds its way elsewhere.
And besides: What does “pay yourself first” even mean?

Ramblings From The BIID (Body Integrity Identity Disorder) Community

1. I want my left foot gone. There’s a distinct line where I feel the stump should end. My foot feels like it’s supposed to be there, but at the same time it’s not. My foot, ankle or the lower half of my shin will tingle or hurt sometimes. Every day, I wake up and think: “Damn it, my foot is still attached to my body”.

$300k in debt (no mortgage). $297,677.49 to be exact.
$215k law school debt, $40k graduate school debt, $25k credit cards, $11k car loan, and a personal loan.
After 5 years of deep denial- I think I’ve finally accepted how badly we fucked up. I feel like I’ve gone through the stages of grief multiple times this year.
