Ink is most commonly made from soot. Pieces of plastic (from a chess or checkers set) are melted in a confined area, a piece of paper is held above the burning plastic to collect the soot. The soot is then scraped off and mixed with lotion or baby oil. Thus creating your ink.

I got busted because I had a small grow set-up that supplied a few friends. I was a tinkerer (I’m an engineer by profession) and I was curious about hydro. I never sold anything. I got caught because a friend of a friend claimed I was some major league dealer. My house was raided and they found all 10 of my plants. No guns, no other drugs, just a small basement set-up.

Before being sentenced you will probably be in a holding cell with some Numbers (South Africa’s largest prison gang). In the morning they will ask everyone to stand in a circle while the highest ranking number stands in the middle.

I can only say from my experience.
I was in a cell. There are also dorms, and I haven’t been in a dorm.
I was in a 2-3 man cell (new guy had to sleep on floor).
I woke up around 5:30 AM or just before( you get used to it). Then there was a count.
At that point you had the option to go back to sleep until breakfast or do something else, such as watch the local news on T.V., work out or try to shower.
You could also read, or do something. I usually got up and started moving around.
Around 7 you’d do another count where they actually looked in you cell to see if it was in order, and then chow.
No. No you don’t you don’t have to fight and I know people that never got into a fight, but there is a 99% chance if you never get into a fight, it is because you were willing to accept things that other people weren’t.
John Gotti was a brash, personable yet cocky character, both in the streets and in prison. He was also alleged – by Sammy Gravano, at least – to be very racist; making various disparaging and denigrating comments about black people, even in Prison environments. Given my preamble, that is not particularly smart.
What was the worst crime that someone was executed for while you were working there?
While we weren’t given any information on the inmates, sometimes certain inmates would stick out in my mind that I’d go home and find the information. The worst I found was one guy that killed a child, skinning it while it was still alive. I tried not talking to him anymore.

I can only speak to low-to-medium security California prisons, but here’s what I know.
Firstly, unless you’ve got a sentence of 10 years or more, you’re probably going to end up in a Level I or II prison, like I did. First you’ll go to Reception, which has inmates of all different security levels, but it’s highly regulated in Reception, and you’re in your cell 23 hours a day, so you’re not likely to have the opportunity to get into too much trouble, especially if you’re new and don’t have some sort of problem already with somebody you meet there.
Crime figures show that about 35 per cent of shoplifting offenses are committed by people over 60. Within that age bracket, 40 per cent of repeat offenders have committed the same crime more than six times.
There is good reason, concludes a report, to suspect that the shoplifting crime wave in particular represents an attempt by those convicted to end up in prison — an institution that offers free food, accommodation and healthcare.
