What Is The Inmate Pecking Order in Prison?

February 23, 2024

innmate pecking order

Jail and prison populations involve people living in very close proximity to one another (in some housing situations, the toilet seat might be only a few inches from your face when you’re lying in bed), so it is natural to expect that a culture and social structure will emerge.

11 Ex-Convicts Reveal What It Was Like After They Finally Got Out Of Prison

January 26, 2024

1. The first thing I noticed is how the world didn’t stop while I was away. You kind of fool yourself into thinking it did while you’re in and, in a way, for you it does. You expect your loved ones to be exactly the way they were when you went in, but they’re not. And you’re not. It can be hard to deal with. Like when they tell you about movies they saw, video games they played, concerts they went to…and you get so jealous. You know it’s petty, but life stopped for you and you get pissed off that it wasn’t waiting exactly where you left it.

10 Videos Of Convicts Freaking Out After Being Sentenced To Prison

January 22, 2024

A 19-year-old convicted killer flew into a rage in a Houston courtroom after a Harris County jury sentenced him to death.

Dexter Johnson was one of five men who carjacked 23-year-old Maria Aparece and her boyfriend Huy Ngo as they sat in their chatting on a summer night more than ten years ago. Prosecutors during his trial alleged Johnson had “fun” when he and his friends carjacked the couple and drove them around town demanding money, credit cards and ATM access.

Then, they parked near a patch of thick woods and forced Ngo to listen as Johnson raped Aparece in the backseat.  Afterward, Johnson shot Ngo in the side of the head execution-style before slaughtering Aparece with a shot to the top of the head.

The Golden Rules of Prison

December 27, 2023

My younger brother is being hit with 2 felonies due to motor vehicle accident. This will be his first time in jail and really in the system in any way, he grew up in the burbs and isn’t about that life (street fighting, having a rough go). My older brother and I grew up in East Los Angeles and knew early on that we wanted out and did our best to not engage and keep out of gang life, we succeeded for the most part. Anyway, I’m worried for my younger brother, he’s genuinely a good kid, just young and irresponsible and is facing the consequences of his actions, as he knows and owns up to them. I want to get him as prepped as possible for what he might be facing. Debating boxing lessors or even Krav Maga.. please tell me your thoughts, recommendations, opinions. How can I prepare myself, my mother and my younger brother for the possible things he may face. His sentence is under 2 years.

A Death Row Inmate’s Thoughts, Days Before His Execution

August 4, 2023

death row

Not many people have seen a real death warrant in person, let alone been issued one with their name on it.

I remember the warden instructing security to escort us in restraints from our cells, one at a time, to a small office where we were surrounded by prison officials. The warden read aloud the information off the warrants, which included our names, our crimes, and the jury’s verdict.

There was silence. My mind remained unaffected, having undergone this very thing before only to later receive a stay of execution. There was a measure of calm, knowing I wasn’t alone, that there were seven others—though, given the love I have for the other guys, I would rather have done it alone.

What’s It Like To Get Arrested In Japan?

July 5, 2023

I’m not a violent or evil man. I’ve paid all my taxes, never got into fights, never joined gangs, reported found wallets, helped the disabled, etc. Didn’t even drink till I was 20!

Arrest to the station:

As I was going to work, a guy stopped me and asked me if I was (my name). I told him yes. He told me he was with customs. Then 5-6 guys surrounded me as to prevent me from fleeing. Another guy came up to me and showed me a search warrant (later fond out he was the leader of the search party). I had to oblige as I thought saying no would just make things worse.

What’s It Like To Be Gay And In Prison?

May 4, 2023

It depends on the man himself.

In CCA there was an openly gay Hispanic fellow, who I don’t believe spoke any English. The Hispanic guys doted on him. He was treated by a number of men the way you might expect they would treat a girlfriend. I saw his admirers bring him little gifts, candy purchased on commissary, the milk from their breakfast… They would save him a seat close to the TV, and made sure his laundry was tended to.

Things You Should Know About Fighting In Prison

January 17, 2023

prison fight

If you get into a squabble with somebody and you get your head busted, as long as you don’t snitch, as long as you put up a good fight and as long as you didn’t run away, you still can get respect

The key to fighting in jail and prison to not look soft is to go through with it as hard as you possibly can, even if you know without a doubt that you’re gonna lose.
