Dummy head used by John Anglin to fool prison guards during his escape from Alcatraz Prison. Him and his 2 companions whereabouts are still unknown. The head was made of cloth, soap, toothpaste, concrete-dust and human hair.

While John and Clarence Anglin, 2 of the 3 men who ever escaped from Alcatraz, were officially reported to have drowned in the bay, their mother received flowers anonymously every Mother’s Day until she died, and two very tall unknown women were reported to have attended her funeral.

lessons learned in prison

Everything is Temporary

When I was in prison, it felt like I would be there forever. That my permanent state of being was uncertainty and pain. I felt as though I would be worthless for the remainder of my life. Once I looked beyond the fear and anxiety, I understood there was an expiration date. I didn’t know when, but I knew there was one. That alone gave me the strength to endure. This is the power of impermanence.

katies revenge

An inmate serving a life sentence for molesting and murdering a 10-year-old girl named Katie was forcibly tattooed across the forehead by a fellow prisoner

Stockelman was sent to Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. Unbeknownst to him, Katie’s cousin, Jared Harris, was also incarcerated there. On the 22nd of September, 2006, Harris slipped into Stockelman’s cell and lay in wait. When Stockelman entered the cell, Harris slammed the locked door behind him, trapping Stockelman. He then held Stockelman down and tattooed “KATIE’S REVENGE” on his forehead as a daily reminder of his crime.

What Is A Typical Day In Prison Like

August 24, 2020

I was in a cell. There are also dorms, and I haven’t been in a dorm.

I was in a 2-3 man cell (new guy had to sleep on floor).

I woke up around 5:30 AM or just before( you get used to it). Then there was a count.

At that point you had the option to go back to sleep until breakfast or do something else, such as watch the local news on T.V., work out or try to shower.

You could also read, or do something. I usually got up and started moving around.

Around 7 you’d do another count where they actually looked in you cell to see if it was in order, and then chow.
