japan assassination

The last time a major political figure was assassinated in Japan was back in 1960 when a 17-year-old by the name of Otoya Yamaguchi used a wakizashi (traditional short sword) to kill Inejirō Asanuma who was leader of the Socialist Party at the time.

The assassination occurred while Asanuma was participating in a nationally televised debate in Tokyo. Yamaguchi was detained before he could turn the sword on himself.

While awaiting his trial, Yamaguchi used toothpaste and water to write on his prison wall: “Long live the Emperor” and “Would that I had seven lives to give for my country.”

No, You Can’t Make a Person Change

July 18, 2022

(photo: @elcuervo)

We’ve all had that one person—that one person in our lives that we always find ourselves saying, “If only they would…” Month after month, year after year—we love them, we care about them, we worry for them, but when we turn off the light or hang up the phone, we think to ourselves, “If only they would…”

Or maybe it’s a friend. Maybe you see them fucking up left, right, and center. Drinking too much. Cheating on their partner. Blowing all their money on their odd yet obsessive go-kart hobby. You pull them aside and give them the hands-on-the-shoulders pep talk that friends are supposed to do. Maybe you offer to take a look at their bank statement and maybe even give them a loan or two. Meanwhile, in the back of your head, you keep thinking:

“If only they would get their shit together…”

This is not a gaming mouse, but it is the best mouse out there for productivity and creative work

The new MX Master 3 is the culmination of years of work, improving over each previous version. The ergonometric design is near perfection and fits my large hand very comfortably. What Is The Appeal Of Modern Day Rappers?

July 15, 2022

lil uzi vert

Specifically these artists, the beats and melodies they rap over are pretty unique. They’re blasting, melodic, and FUN.

It’s this bombastic progression of notes and melodies, and the contrast of them rapping and sounding like they straight up do not care makes it fantastic.

Hip hop has reached the same place rock n roll went when punk came on the scene. Trap and Punk have a lot in common.
