Why Isn’t Grayson “The Professor” Boucher in the NBA?

September 30, 2022

Over the years, “the Professor” has gained a huge following on the internet due to his impressive ball handling and flashy moves. This has led many people to believe in the ridiculous assumption that he could make the NBA if he wanted to. In fact, I have seen videos where Grayson himself says that he could have made the NBA, but preferred street ball.

This is an absolute lie and anyone who believes that this man could make the NBA has absolutely no knowledge of the game. Grayson Boucher is 5′7; there have been only 9 players in NBA history 5′7 and under.

What Tactics Do Not Work In Street Fights?

September 26, 2022

1. Never ever ever ever never try to kick above the waist in a street fight. One of my bouncers, when I was a head bouncer at a bar that was really rowdy, was the California state Taekwondo sparring champion. I sparred with him in the dojo and he was a nightmare. When he came to work for me I told him on the first day do not not not ever try to use one of your kicks above the waist. One night he was taking out the trash; he got into it with a guy. I saw and witnesses confirmed that he tried an inward crescent kick. The guy took one step to the side and stabbed him in the heart. He was dead in less than 30 seconds.

I’m a German soldier in 1939. What are my chances to survive until 1945?

September 21, 2022

By the end of the war the Germans had 12.5 million men under arms. Over 4 million died during the war.

Survival depended upon where you were stationed.

If you were in the East there was a much higher chance of being killed and wounded than if you were in the West or in Denmark or Norway.

At the edges of the most vicious battles, such as the fighting near Vienna near the end of the war, or in Silesia, or in Czechoslovakia (where the Germans won major victories til the very last day) the chances of dying were very high.

What Was Life Like Before The Internet?

September 16, 2022

When I was a little kid, and I asked my parents a non-obvious question about the human body or biology, their answer would be “Ask your uncle Paulo next time we see him. He’s a doctor”. Other questions about various topics would get “Let’s call up grandma and ask her; She’s a teacher”, or “Let’s see if the encyclopedia has anything about this”, or “Ask your teacher if, during recess, you can go ask the librarian at school”.

What movies are playing? Let’s check the newspaper.

How Was The Soviet Government Structured?

September 15, 2022

The Soviet structure changed multiple times in history. I’m going to talk about the pre-1989 system. There’s a lot of really weird “communist” administrative names that get used, so it gets pretty confusing.

The Soviet system is based around the idea of “soviets”, which roughly means workers’ council. Furthermore, the administrative system is split between the actual government and the Communist Party.

How Do Police Sketch Artists Accurately Depict Perpetrators?

September 14, 2022

police sketch artist

When I was a victim of an armed robbery, I was eager to get this violent criminal off the streets. Unfortunately, the Bay Area city in which this occurred did not employ a composite sketch artist, and my case was not considered high-profile enough to warrant the investigator traveling an hour to another city with me to do the drawing. This was not satisfactory. I began working with a private investigator to help find the attacker and put him behind bars where he belongs.

What Was The Scariest Thing For a German Soldier To See During WW2?

September 12, 2022

Churchill Crocodile tank

This isn’t a regular tank. It’s a Churchill Crocodile outfitted with a super-powered flamethrower.

Many Germans in WWII were incinerated alive shortly after seeing this view. Here’s an excerpt of a first-hand account from a German who went up against a Churchill Crocodile.

What The Hell Happened To West Virgina?

September 9, 2022

West Virginia is among the poorest if not the poorest state in the union as well as one of the most uneducated and least economically developed. It wasn’t always this way. The reasons for this almost have to do entirely with coal.

Why Aren’t Students Taught Practical Things In School? (Build Things, Sewing, Financial Literacy, Cooking)

September 6, 2022

The first and most obvious part of it is that the past couple years have definitely proven that adults at large do not have a great grasp of critical reading skills, along with other things that have been vital to understanding the world around them like how statistics work, scientific principles, or understanding research practices like peer review. This means that the average sixth grader definitely does not possess all the learning from the core subjects they’ll need.

How is “Squatter’s Rights” a Thing?

September 2, 2022

sqautters rights

I’ve heard dozens of stories that go something like this:

Family buys home or rents apartment. Before they can officially move in, somebody rolls in with a sleeping bag and claims “squatters rights”. It takes months/years to evict them and costs thousands of dollars.

How is this legal? The squatter isn’t on the lease or deed to the home. They’re trespassing – why do they get any rights at all? Shouldn’t the police show up within hours to throw their ass out?
