dublin boys club

In Ireland, there’s a “Dublin Boys Club” that encourages men to share their real feelings, to explore healthy masculinity and offers a safe place to be vulnerable.

The Dublin Boys Club is a place where something very radical happens: men, strangers initially, come together with one purpose: to practise real talk and grow into the most authentic versions of themselves.

What is Seuxal Grooming? What Are Some Signs To Look Out For?

January 18, 2023

Grooming in essence is gaining the trust of a child (child here including teenagers), and conditioning them to see predatory behavior as normal.

The predator focus special attention on them, forming a relationship and making them think they are special/important in the predator’s eyes.

Confessions of a Woman Who Was Groomed by Her Teacher in High School

January 18, 2023

How did it begin? How old were you when it started?

I was 15 when it started. He was 38. He’s 23 years older than me.

His classroom was directly across from my art class. I hated art class and usually skipped it. He is a special needs teacher and had a sensory swing in his room. He offered for me to hang out in it and I spent every single art class in his classroom instead.

What’s It Like To Live ‘Off The Grid’

January 18, 2023

off the grid

Why are you off the grid? What is the point?

We wanted to live in Vermont, and fell in love with a piece of land without a house on it. We were completely new to building (we had only built a chicken coop prior to our house), and had a limited budget. We knew we didn’t want to take a mortgage to build, so we went with the most basic cabin we could reasonably build in a short time. We figured we would add features and utilities as money would allow. 5 years in, and we still are fine with not having running water, a constant supply of electricity.

This is a less stressful life for us: being in control, having awesome projects, doing whatever we want with what we have.

black bomber dc comics

DC Comics’ original candidate for its first headlining black superhero was the Black Bomber, a white racist who would turn into a black superhero under stress. Comics historian Don Markstein called it “an insult to practically everybody with any point of view at all.”

In each of the two completed Black Bomber scripts, the white bigot risks his own life to save another person whom he can’t see clearly (in one case, a baby in a stroller) and then reacts in racial slur disgust when he discovers that he risked his life to save a black person. He wasn’t aware that he had two identities, but each identity had a girlfriend and the ladies were aware of the change. To add final insult, the Bomber’s costume was little more than a glorified basketball uniform.

How to Stop Checking Your Phone Like an Addict

January 18, 2023

(phone: @robin_rednine)

Hey there, compulsive phone checker.

Much like you, I’m fairly experienced in this area. I used to check my phone compulsively, but have overcome the need to check it, and I’ll share with you how I did it.

It would start out innocent enough, scrolling through Facebook while waiting for a coffee. Or perusing Instagram during breaks at work. I didn’t have a lot of data available to use on my plan, so I was always pretty careful about when I was using it.
