What’s It Like For A Stunningly Beautiful Woman To Turn Old?

February 10, 2023

I was very, very hot.

Now I’m 61. I’m not hot. I’ve had two babies. I’ve been sleep deprived most of my life. My hair is a mess (possible Asperger’s symptom). I have never been married, legally. Funny, because I used to wonder how all those girls around me were ever going to find husbands, looking like that.

In high school, someone started a rumor I was on the cover of Seventeen. The freshman girls began to follow me around, giggling. They were so excited. This went on for months. I could see them admiring me from across the cafeteria, or down the hall. They’d stop, to worship. At last, one nervously came up to ask me about it. I told her: I was a model, but not in Seventeen.

If You’re Not Happy Alone Then You Won’t Be Happy In A Relationship

February 10, 2023

being happy alone

“I’ll be happy when I get a girlfriend.”

“If I just wasn’t coming home to an empty house then life would be so much better.”

“I need to have someone who loves me before I will feel better about myself.”

It’s hard to tell someone in quicksand to stop flailing to get out. Loneliness and sadness can make happily ever after sound very tempting regardless of where it comes from.

Bartenders Reveal What Your Drink Order Says About You

February 9, 2023

(photo: @fo0x)

1. From my experience if you order a Bud Light/ Miller Light/ Budweiser with a shot of Bourbon or Whisky you probably work a manual labor intensive job. Most older women want vodka with water/tonic/soda. Younger woman tend to order vodka with cranberry or sweeter mixed drinks. Younger men tend to order IPA’s or Craft Beers. I can always tell who just turned 21 due to all the complex sweet shots with fancy names being ordered. Old ladies that want to party usually start with Margaritas. I bartend on the weekends at a shot and beer spot, so I don’t get a lot variety.

What Would The Logistics Of Invading The United States Look Like?

February 9, 2023

For a country to invade the Mainland US would require a level of logistics that currently only the US Military could feasibly achieve.

An amphibious assault force on the West Coast would be extremely hard pressed to find a beachhead in which to land troops and material. The US Navy alone has multiple bases in Hawaii, Washington (State), and California which would screen any direct attacks against the coast (this is just US Navy; the US Army, Marines, and Air Force also have large presences in air bases, barracks, etc.)

cotton mill workers

Portrait of cotton mill workers in Georgia, 1909

Families usually began mill work together, since employers paid adults poor wages and offered jobs to children to help make ends meet. “In this way, mills attracted a core of mature workers at low cost along with younger, even cheaper, laborers who could perform simple tasks and move in and out of the mills in response to market fluctuations.” Critics opposed child labor and mill owners were often of a divided mind on the subject, but children remained an integral part of the labor force. Between 1880 and 1910, about one-fourth of all cotton mill workers in the South were below the age of sixteen.
