Woman sentenced to 3 years for false rape accusations

A judge handed down a three-year prison sentence to a woman who admitted that she falsely accused Parma Heights Police Chief Steve Scharschmidt of rape.

Davis came clean about her allegations after state agents confronted her with multiple inconsistencies in her story. They also obtained cellphone records that showed Davis made Google searches that included the phrase “can you go to jail for lying about a cop raping you.”

Aftermath of the attempted cash-in-transit robbery in South Africa

A South African guard was caught in dashcam footage fighting a gang of armed thieves who sprayed his security vehicle with more than thirty bullets in an attempt to kill him, before turning the situation around by chasing them under the threat of a weapon.

Leo Prinsloo, 48, was escorting cellphones in his unmarked armored Toyota Land Cruiser when he was ambushed by two cars full of gunmen.

Prinsloo is a former member of the South African Police Service’s Special Task Force, a special operations group within the SAPS.

The Special Task Force functions as a hostage rescue and counter-terrorism organization, trained to deal with high-risk threats on the land, in the air, and at sea.

The system is designed to counter short-range rockets and 155 mm artillery shells with a range of up to 70 kilometers. According to its manufacturer, Iron Dome will operate day and night, under adverse weather conditions, and can respond to multiple threats simultaneously.

In 1990, a wrongfully installed windshield on BA flight 5390 fell out, causing the plane’s cockpit to decompress and its captain to be pulled halfway out of the aircraft at an altitude of over 17,000 feet. The crew held him until they landed. He survived (picture on left is reenactment)

It was 27 minutes into the flight from Birmingham to Malaga, Spain, somewhere over the English Midlands two of the cockpit windows smashed, depressurizing the cabin. Captain Tim Lancaster who was at the controls was instantly sucked out of the cockpit.

Giovanni Battista Bugatti (mostly known as Mastro Titta) is one of Rome’s most iconic figures. He was the longest serving executioner for the Papal States, operating between 1796 and 1864.

During his career he carried out 514 executions, all recorded on his personal notepad which still exists today.
