Antinous was the lover of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. When Antinous was killed, Hadrian was so distraught that he spread artwork of the boy throughout the empire, deified him and created a cult to his worship, and even named at least one town after him.

Banksy Donates New Artwork To A Hospital To Celebrating Health Care Workers

A new Banksy artwork paying tribute to National Health Service workers has turned up at Southampton General Hospital in England. The painting, titled Game Changer (2020), was delivered to the hospital along with a note that read: “Thanks for all you’re doing. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if its only black and white.” The hospital houses a significant testing facility that is currently running trials on potential Covid-19 vaccines.

Violet Jessop, an Irish woman who survived not one, not two, but THREE of the most catastrophic ship disasters of the 20th century.

Violet Jessop worked on the RMS Olympic when it hit another ship and nearly sank. She went on to work on its sister ship RMS Titanic when it hit an iceberg and sank. Later she served on the other sister ship HHMS Britannic when it hit a mine and also sank.

Most Japanese schools do not employ janitors or custodians. The Japanese education system believes that requiring students to clean the school themselves teaches respect, responsibility, and emphasizes equality

They hire maintenance staff, but no janitors. This is because the students and staff do all of the cleaning themselves. This takes place every day, usually for 10 or 15 minutes, depending on the school, longer before vacations, and sometimes twice a day. (This might happen the day of the school festival, or on graduation day.)

St. Louis Man Rents Apartment With Bathroom & Kitchen In ONE ROOM!

A St. Louis man is the new tenant of a tiny apartment with a unique layout — the kitchen and bathroom are in the same place.

Yep. The toilet, bathtub, oven and sink are all in one room. The 200-square-foot (18.5-sq. meter) apartment is in St. Louis’ tony Central West End.

The ad and photo for the $525-per-month apartment appeared on several websites and had people flush with excitement. Harold Karabell of S.F. Shannon Real Estate Management says the new tenant loves it.

The Zodiac Killer’s 340-symbol cipher from Nov. 8, 1969

The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The killer’s identity remains unknown. The Zodiac murdered victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 were targeted. The killer originated the name “Zodiac” in a series of taunting letters sent to the local Bay Area press. These letters included four cryptograms (or ciphers). Of the four cryptograms sent, only one has been definitively solved.
