15 Extremely Bizarre Mental Disorders

October 2, 2023

1. Alice in Wonderland Syndrome

Alice in Wonderland may be pure fantasy, but one of Alice’s more bizarre experiences shares its characteristics with a scary mental disorder. Known also as Todd Syndrome, Alice in Wonderland Syndrome causes one’s surroundings to appear distorted. Just as Alice grows too tall for the house, those suffering from Alice in Wonderland Syndrome will hear sounds either quieter or louder than they actually are, see objects larger or smaller than reality, and even lose sense of accurate velocity or textures. This terrifying disorder, which has been described as an LSD trip without the euphoria, even perverts one’s own body image. Fortunately, Alice in Wonderland Syndrome is extremely rare, and in most cases affects those in their 20s who have a brain tumor or history of drug use.

Guy Asks Internet If It’s Wrong To Object to Girlfriend’s New Explicit Body Pillow

October 2, 2023

I (25m) have a girlfriend (26f) who’s autistic. Normally I wouldn’t bring this up, but it is relevant to this story. She’s pretty high functioning, but the main way her autism effects her is a really strong special interest in one specific fictional character.

I’ve never had an issue with this, and I try to keep up with whatever’s going on in the fandom for her and listen to her info dumping about her favorite character on a regular basis.

Melisa Raouf, a finalist in Miss England, became the first Miss England participant to not wear makeup during the pageant in 94 years of its history

I am so grateful for the heartfelt support I have received from all around the world since. I did not expect my story to spread globally as it has done, but I am delighted that it has, and I hope that it can make a difference to so many women and girls. For so long, I felt as if I was never complete without wearing makeup. Only very recently have I accepted that inner confidence will always shine far more radiantly than any amount of makeup, and doing so has been liberating.

Moving forward, I hope to continue promoting the #barefacetrendmovement to help empower women of all ages to feel confident in their own skin, without feeling as if they have to conceal their self by wearing makeup in order to conform to societal pressures. Although I do still believe that it is okay to use makeup, we should not let makeup define our appearance. Wearing makeup should not be the default option, but a choice and women should be able to embrace their differences.

The Dangers of “Should” and Why You Need to Stop Using It

October 2, 2023

We all have an idealized vision of how our lives “should” be – the perfect job, relationship, body, house, etc. But constantly comparing reality to this fictional ideal is an express train to unhappiness. As writer Elle Luna said, “We unconsciously imprison ourselves to avoid our most primal fears. We choose Should because choosing Must is terrifying, incomprehensible.”

Using “should” gives us an excuse to avoid taking action or making changes. After all, if things “should” be a certain way, then it’s not our fault they aren’t, right? Wrong. Saying “I should start working out” or “I should be making more money” puts the responsibility on some nameless force instead of yourself.

Confession of the Day

October 2, 2023

I just pooped my pants while driving. It was like an hour of clean up.

It was actually loose stool, I just got over a stomach bug.

I was halfway through my hour commute when I let loose. No businesses anywhere in sight. Three times before it actually came out, I could feel it fighting to emerge, but I kept it at bay. Deep down, I knew that something was different, that there was no stopping it.
