What Exactly Do People Mean By “Spacing” In Basketball

November 22, 2023

spacing in basketball

Good floor spacing means those teams have shooters who can shoot the 3 very well forcing defenders to stick closer to them and further away from the paint/rim

It does not necessarily mean shooting above league average from three; volume is just as important as percentage. If a player shoots well from three but only manages 1-2 attempts per game despite being always wide open they are not a floor spacer.

Rajon Rondo is an example of this. Also doesn’t have to be restricted to 3PT shooting if it concerns big men; Nikola Jokic is a top notch floor spacer.

Good spacing makes it difficult for defenders to play help defense.

Vasily Blokhin

Vasily Blokhin, Joseph Stalin’s head executioner. Having personally killed tens of thousands of people in his career, including 7,000 Polish officers in under a month during the “Katyn Massacre,” Blokhin was the most prolific murderer in human history

Along with a team of about thirty NKVD men from Moscow, mainly drivers and prison guards, Blokhin arrived at the NKVD prison in Kalinin (Tver) and set himself up in a sound-proofed cellar room that had a sloping floor for drainage. He then put on his special uniform, consisting of a leather cap, long leather apron, and elbow-length gloves.

On a table next to him was a briefcase filled with his own personal Walther PPK pistols, for Blokhin, a true artist at his trade, would use no one else’s tools but his own.

After the prisoner’s identity was verified, he was brought handcuffed into the cellar room where Blokhin awaited in his long apron, like some horrible butcher.

One guard later testified: “The men held [the prisoner’s] arms and [Blokhin] shot him in the base of the skull…that’s all”. Blokhin worked fast and efficiently, killing an average of one man every three minutes during the course of ten-hour nights – the killings were always done at night so that the bodies could be disposed of in darkness.

Confession of the Day

November 21, 2023

I(m45) cheated on my wife (f41). It changed her fundamentally. She has always been this bubbly and cheerful woman with her beautiful smile never leaving her face. She makes everything better and has the ability to make people happy around her wherever she goes. Now she is distant, silent and

I haven’t seen her smile since it happened a year ago. When we got back together after a small break, she told me that she was fully aware about our declining sex life and her role in that. She said that she didn’t know if or when she ever could sleep with me again. She said that she couldn’t handle the pressure of needing to heal fast not to lose me again, for me not to cheat again, so she said that I could still sleep with the OW. She just doesn’t want to know when. And not in our home.

I hate myself for what she has become. Like a broken bird. When I talk to her about divorce, her tears just starts pouring and she asks if I didn’t love her anymore. I do. More than anything but I want to set her free. But her tears. I can’t.

The only thing she hasn’t changed is her kiss in the morning. She starts very early and before leaving she kisses me goodbye and whispers I love you. I pretend that she I’m sleeping. When I hear the door locks I break down crying. I cry for a good hour before it’s time for me to go to work too.

I hate myself every day for what I have done to her.
