Do Police Officers Struggle With Becoming Bitter Toward the Public?

January 4, 2021

do police get bitter towards the public

Yes. This is particularly a problem when the officer is dealing with a group who he perceives is always making work for him.

The city where I worked was a tourist destination with lots of money and liquor in the mix. It drew a disproportionate share of people who are now called “homeless” (we usually referred to them as “vagrants” or “drunks”) who would panhandle, buy, or otherwise acquire alcohol, and get drunk in parks and other public places. They had very low standards of hygiene, occasionally fought (not very effectively) with officers, and committed many petty offenses that took a great deal of time and resources to deal with.

importance of gratitude

The Importance of Gratitude

You cannot be completely happy in your life if you’re not already aware of what you already have! Why? because you’re always chasing something you don’t have and even after getting it, it’s the same damn cycle over and over again!

” I’ll be happy when I get rich! “

” I’ll be happy when I cracked that exam or got that grade! “

” I’ll be happy if only he/she behave me better “

” I’ll be happy if my parents be that way “

People Please! Stop bullshi*ting yourself!

Life is a journey, Not a Destination! so learn to enjoy all of it.

Write down 3 things you’re grateful for every morning. It’s proven to make you more relaxed, healthy and happy.

emma schols

“If I birthed 6 kids, I’m gonna get 6 kids out”. Super-Mom Emma Schols saved all of her 6 kids from their burning home, running room to room, floor to floor. Even tho she was bleeding and losing skin, hair burnt like coal, she kept going. Emma got 93% burn injuries, yet still survived.

It was in September 2019 that the worst possible thing happened. Mother of six Emma Schols, 31, slept alone at home with the children. Suddenly she heard a fire in the downstairs of the villa, where two of her younger sons were.

All We Have Is NOW

All we have is right NOW. We can’t guarantee our future self will make the right decisions, and we can’t undo the past mistakes. Stop making plans to be successful in the future and start taking massive action right this very second.

I’ve been super guilty of procrastination by planning, researching, etc. I make to do lists, spreadsheets and routines ad nauseum. I set alarms and reminders. I look at inspirational posts and daydream about the future only to never follow through. The act of making plans and lists satisfies me enough to wait till the next day to take action, which I never do.

Confessions of a Successful Real Estate Investor

December 30, 2020

real estate investor

I am currently 31M, married, no kids, living in San Diego and working as a senior front-end engineer + running a real estate startup on the side.

My portfolio consists of 35 total units, mostly 4-plexes, with a duplex and some SFRs sprinkled here and there. 3 units in San Diego, 1 in Atlanta, 3 in Birmingham, 28 in Kansas City.

My units cash flow between $250-$350/door and the total cash flow of the portfolio is about $10-11k/month (accounting for vacancies as well). My average COC return at purchase is about 15% and long-term IRR is usually 20%+.
