The first rule of street fighting is don’t get in a street fight. There is nothing to be gained when compared with what you could possibly lose. Losing a street fight could be fatal, even winning a street fight is still going to hurt and not just in the swollen hand and a headache type of way. The most painful part of a street fight happens afterward. It’s the part nobody talks about or thinks of in moment of anger. The only people to win street fights are those who don’t participate. Failing in that here’s how you get out of a street fight alive.
The name Judo means “the gentle way” and the sport is built on principles such as justice, courtesy, safety, and modesty. Kanō saw the martial art as a way to bring people together, even while throwing opponents to the mat.
Born in 1860 in Mikage (now part of Kobe), Kanō moved to Tokyo with his father at age 11. Though he was known as a child prodigy in school, he often faced adversity. To build strength, he became determined to study the martial art of Jujutsu. During his time as a student at Tokyo University, he finally found someone who would teach him—Jujutsu master and former samurai Fukuda Hachinosuke.

One tendency I’ve noticed about a lot of us who are into self-development is that we are incredibly hungry for information.
Some of us may have had neglectful parents or an upbringing that was very scarce, we may have not gotten the encouragement for self-betterment, we have no one around us who are striving for the best — so we want to consume and process all the information, methods, tips, and tricks we can.
I think that’s great because being deeply desirous to change yourself is better than being apathetic and lethargic.
Unfortunately, this over-consumption of information can become gluttony. Gluttony then leads to lethargy, which then leads to sloth and not doing anything with this information.
