A Dutch ambulance driver has helped fulfill the dying wishes of more than 14,000 people.
Retired paramedic Kees Veldboer, 60, came up with the idea while assisting a former sailor whose only wish was to sail a ship once more. Veldboern arranged for the stretcher-bound man to go sailing and so that was the beginning of Veldboer’s new humanitarian path — making wishes come true.

On July 18, 1899, newspaper boys in Long Island City, Queens, discovered that a supplier was short-changing the bundles of newspapers that the boys had to buy upfront from distribution centers before selling them off on the streets.
In retaliation, they overturned his cart, ran him out of town, and destroyed or stole all his papers. Word quickly spread to Manhattan, where newsboys were already upset over the high prices they had to pay per bundle of papers from publishers William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer.
The next day, thousands of newsies gathered in City Hall Park to form a union and elected 18-year-old Louis “Kid Blink” Baletti as their president.
Then, they called for a city-wide strike until the price of papers for newsies was lowered — and against all odds, the boys won.
Sometimes when you meet a woman out in your daily life, you only get to chat for a few moments.

I’ve heard dozens of stories that go something like this:
Family buys home or rents apartment. Before they can officially move in, somebody rolls in with a sleeping bag and claims “squatters rights”. It takes months/years to evict them and costs thousands of dollars.
How is this legal? The squatter isn’t on the lease or deed to the home. They’re trespassing – why do they get any rights at all? Shouldn’t the police show up within hours to throw their ass out?

I have found that when I want to do something I shouldn’t do I think “Do I want to be the kind of person who does this?” or if there is something that I should do but am not doing I think
“Do I want to be the kind of person that doesn’t do this?”
Which reminds me of the gap between who I am and who I want to be and helps me move towards who I want to be.
Try it next time you think you shouldn’t do something but ignore that feeling, think, “Do I want to be the kind of person that does this?”
So sometimes you aren’t being better because you feel like being better, but simply because you see yourself in the future as someone who is better
