15 People Facing Imminent Death Reveal Their Thoughts And Feelings As They Were About To Die

March 7, 2023

1. Disgustingly: that I didn’t care if those around me were killed just as long as I got out alive. The knowledge of that being my thought process at the time has haunted me my entire life.

10 People Who Like Their Steaks Well-Done Explain WHY

March 7, 2023

well done steaks

1. First of all, by well done, I mean brown all the way through, which is not the same as completely burned so that the steak resembles a hockey puck in appearance and flavor.

I have had some phenomenal steaks cooked well done at moderate-to-upscale steakhouses, and the outside was barely charred at all.

After trying steaks cooked to a variety of temperatures, I feel that well done is the best according to my tastes. I don’t feel that the flavor is substantially lost by cooking the steak for longer.

What Happens When A Country Doesn’t Pay Its Debts?

March 7, 2023

Most sovereign governments can, in theory, ignore their debts and default. The repercussions will depend on who lent the government the money.

It is extremely likely that no private investor or enterprise will consider lending more money (in the short term). They might go so far as to cease or curtail lending to private enterprises in that country due to perceived instability and unreliability of the government.

It is also likely the currency will devalue and there will be little incoming investment.

György Dózsa

The Execution of György Dózsa

History has taught us that committing high treason is a sure fire way to get tortured and executed in the most excruciating ways. Of course, this isn’t a problem if you actually manage to succeed in overthrowing a ruler or monarch, but those who fail are made an example of in the worst ways possible. Such was the case of György Dózsa, a Hungarian soldier of fortune who led a peasants’ revolt against the kingdom’s nobility in 1514. Despite achieving some early decisive victories against the Hungarian army, the revolution was eventually suppressed with force and Dózsa captured.

What’s It Like To Date A Woman 25 Years Older Than You?

March 6, 2023

I dated a lovely woman that was exactly twice my age. I was 25 and she was 50.

She’d been through a terrible, abusive marriage, and had 3 grown children, 2 of which were older than I.

Her ex and her kids treated her like shit and unfortunately she let them.

Together we made a life running a business together that was successful enough for us to afford 2 homes, 3 nice cars, and a 30+ foot house boat.

What Was it Like Living in Occupied France During WWII For the Average Person?

March 6, 2023

In France, the Nazis split France into an occupied and unoccupied zone – occupied being the north, unoccupied, or Vichy, being the south. Nazis would have been living in the occupied zone – you would have had to board one for several days at a time – from 1940, and into the unoccupied zones from 1942.
