Ramesses II passport

In 1974, the legendary pharaoh Ramesses II was issued a valid Egyptian passport so that his 3,000-year-old mummy could be flown to Paris for necessary repair.

Ramesses II is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated, and most powerful pharaoh of the New Kingdom. His successors and later Egyptians called him the “Great Ancestor”. On his death, he was buried in a tomb in the Valley of the Kings; his body was later moved to a royal cache where it was discovered in 1881, and is now on display in the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.

poon lim

Poon Lim, a Chinese sailor who survived alone adrift on this life raft for 133 days. Photo taken c.1943-1945

Lim survived for 133 days after the British merchant navy vessel he was travelling on was sunk by a German U-boat, in November 1942, leaving him stranded in the South Atlantic Ocean. Several others survived the initial sinking, but perished, leaving Poon the sole survivor of the attack. He subsequently clambered aboard this raft, and after slowly working his way through the rations already on board, survived by drinking rainwater and catching fish, sharks and even sea-birds.

This man held his arm up one day and decided to never put it down, it’s been 45+ years

Amar Bharati claims to have kept his hand raised in devotion to Hindu deity Shiva.

One day in 1970, Bharati left his job, wife, and three children in order to pursue his devotion to Shiva; three years later he felt he was still too connected to the luxury of mortal life, and decided to raise his arm and keep it raised in order to disconnect himself from said luxuries of mortal life.

He claims that he dealt with immense pain for quite a while, but it eventually subsided and now he can’t even use the raised arm if he wanted, as it atrophied and is now stuck in its current raised position.

Bharati inspired other sadhus to raise their arms as well, some of which have managed to keep them raised for 7, 13, or even 25 years.

One of Panzram’s most brutal murders involved hiring six men to work on a boat with him, shooting them, and then feeding them to crocodiles. In his autobiography, he wrote, “For all of these things, I am not the least bit sorry.”

tate myre

Tate Myre, a 16-year-old football player at Michigan’s Oxford High School, sacrificed his life Tuesday to save his classmates from the deadly shooting that has claimed at least three other lives.

Ross Wingert, who was Tate’s football and wrestling coach, told the Detroit Free Press that the junior ran towards the gunman to try and disarm him.

“I was told that everybody in that school was running one way, and Tate was running the other way.”

Myre’s classmates have started a Change.org petition in which they are calling for Wildcats Stadium to be renamed in his honor. The petition had over 125,000 signatures as of Thursday morning.

“Tate is not just a hero to his fellow students at Oxford high school but a legend, his act of bravery should be remembered forever and passed down through generations, he put his life in danger to try and help the thousands of other students at Oxford High School,” reads the description on the Change.org petition.

registry room ellis island

Immigrants who passed the first mental inspection wait in pens in the Registry Room, also called the Great Hall at Ellis Island in New York Harbor, 1910

Nearly every day, for over two decades (1900-1924), the Registry Room was filled with new arrivals waiting to be inspected and registered by Immigration Service officers. On many days, over 5,000 people would file through the space.

For most immigrants, this great hall epitomized Ellis Island. It was here that immigrants underwent medical and legal examinations.

Here they encountered the complex demands of the immigration laws and an American bureaucracy that could either grant or withhold permission to land in the United States.

face tattoo regret

Guy Regrets Getting A Tattoo On His Face

I never listened when my dad told me I’m handsome, I don’t need tattoos on my face or tattoos period.

I let the ugly get the best of me.

I start to notice later how terrible I look with these tattoos on my face and how more appealing I would of been

But now I’m working on finding a new tattoo removal business’s to remove.

I was working with one but I think he was screwing me idk but I think I can find better and maybe a lot cheaper to Remove them one by one every single one .

I miss my skin tone I really do and I hate how I get judged some times and looked at as if I’m a crook when I’m not.

I want to look presentable not cause a job but for my self and business wise.
