Cheryl Crane, the daughter of actress Lana Turner, stabbed one of her mother’s boyfriends to death during a domestic struggle at the age of 14 in 1958. It was considered a justifiable homicide and she was deemed to have been protecting her mother.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. on April 4, eight days after the Academy Awards ceremony, Johnny Stompanato arrived at Lana Turner’s rented home at 730 North Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills, California, which she had just begun leasing a week prior.
The two began arguing heatedly in the bedroom, during which Stompanato threatened to kill Turner, her daughter, and her mother, as well as making "gangster threats" that involved breaking Turner’s bones and slashing her face with a straight razor.

Joe Metheny, a serial killer who made his victims into burgers – he chopped them up, mixed them with pork, and served them as burgers to unwitting customers from his roadside barbecue stand in Maryland.
Joe Metheny started out looking for his runaway wife and son, but ended up on a revenge-driven killing spree and turning his victims into cheeseburgers.
When the police arrested Joe Metheny in December of 1996, they expected him to put up a fight. The man was a 500-pound lumber factory worker with a tendency to fly off the handle. At the very least, they expected resistance. What they didn’t expect was a detailed and upfront confession, the brutality of which was preceded by Metheny’s own warning: “I’m a very sick person.”

Man is released from prison after serving 29 years for murder he didn’t commit
In the summer of 1992, Eric Riddick was 22 years old when he was convicted of first-degree murder in the November 1991 shooting death of his friend, William Catlett.
The conviction was largely based on the testimony of Shawn Stevenson, an eyewitness who told police four different accounts of what he saw but eventually named Riddick as the shooter in his last statement, according to previous appeals cited by The Associated Press. The eyewitness also said Riddick was on a balcony shooting down at Catlett, however, forensic evidence showed the shots were fired in an upward direction, according to an appeal filed by Riddick.
Stevenson later recanted his testimony in a 1999 affidavit, claiming he was coerced by Philadelphia police to name Riddick
