This letter is for you, and I hope that you will read it. Technically, this letter is actually to me, to the “me” of just over two years ago, but I want you to consider that this letter could just as easily have been written by you, about two years from now. I hope you will continue reading.

Police reform has been a hot topic across the country for well over a year, with many states and cities enacting a wide variety of changes to how law enforcement officers are trained and funded. Now, according to Fox 47 in Lansing, MI, one proposed Michigan police reform bill would require officers to hold the rank of blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

The bill was introduced by Representative Ryan Berman. The goal is to give officers the confidence to safely apprehend an individual with the help of Brazilian jiu-jitsu while limiting or greatly reducing instances of officers using unnecessary force.

cop uses jiu jitsu

Awesome display of Jiu-Jitsu. Great control. No one was hurt, no need for deadly force. Jiu jitsu training alone won’t solve the issues people have with police, but I think it will go a long way.We need more cops who are trained like him, world would be a better place.

Man Suffers Identity Crisis After Jiu-Jitsu Trained Girlfriend Chokes Him Out

March 1, 2021

girlfriend chokes out boyfriend and he has identity crisis

My gf and I have been dating for about 6 months. We both go to the same school, so we see each other all the time, and are both going to graduate in June. We have had a great relationship, and I have no reason to dislike her. She is a rational, level-headed, and smart woman who I absolutely trust.

My gf is trained in Jiu Jitsu and I believe she is decently good (I’ve never seen her fight). She has been training at a fancy gym consistently since she started college 5 years ago. I have zero self defense training as I don’t have the time or money to go to classes or a martial arts gym. I boxed briefly in early college but had to quit pretty early on because I got a new job.

BJJ White Belt Defeats BJJ Black Belt by Submission

March 1, 2021

white belt submits black belt in jiu jitsu

According to the video owner, the ‘white belt’ was an advance grappler:

Guys, Veselin Dukov is not a beginner, he’s actually a very advanced grappler, but he is technically a white belt because he has less than 10 sessions with the Gi. The black belt shoudn’t be ashamed because he lost to a young and very talented grappler who has won the Bulgarian championships on various occasions and ended up second in the Euro ADCC trials. What happened at the tournament was, that he did the Expert No Gi, and wanted to test his skills against black belts in the Gi. Since he’s not a black belt, he obviously doesn’t have one and he borrowed a white belt from a female competitor. We asked NAGA officials if he could use a white belt and they said OK. So don’t give the BB such a rough time, he was legit.
