What’s It Like To Be Knocked Out in an MMA Fight?

January 20, 2021

whats it liked to be knocked out

Interviewer: Anderson Silva, what is worse, getting knocked out in the UFC or giving 200 interviews explaining why it happened?

Silva: Getting knocked out I guess.

Interviewer: Is it worse than people asking about it? Like I’m doing again and again and again…

Silva: No no, there will always be questions. Fans, people, they want to know what happened, but being knocked out is worse because you can’t remember. There is just a blackout, and then when you wake up you’re like, “Uh? What Happened? The fight is over?” And the ref says, “Yeah, it’s over and you lost.” “But how?” Then the ref says, “you got knocked out” “BUT HOW?” The ref then answers, “You took a big shot and fell to the mat.”

The Daily Man-Up: Habits Are The Compound Interest Of Self‐Improvement.

January 20, 2021

Habits are the compound interest of self‐improvement. The same way that money multiplies through compound interest, the effects of your habits multiply as you repeat them. They seem to make little difference on any given day and yet the impact they deliver over the months and years can be enormous. It is only when looking back two, five, or perhaps ten years later that the value of good habits and the cost of bad ones becomes strikingly apparent.

mouse utopia

There was a man-made mouse utopia called Universe 25. It started with 4 males and 4 females. The colony peaked at 2200 and from there declined to extinction. Once a tipping point was reached, the mice lost instinctual behaviors. Scientists extrapolate this model to humans on earth.

Lone females retreated to isolated nesting boxes on penthouse levels. Other males, a group Calhoun termed “the beautiful ones,” never sought sex and never fought—they just ate, slept, and groomed, wrapped in narcissistic introspection. Elsewhere, cannibalism, pansexualism, and violence became endemic. Mouse society had collapsed.

What’s It Like To Own A Lamborghini?

January 18, 2021

(photo: @thomashaas)

I pondered this same question since I was 15. About 15 years later I am qualified to answer this. I’ve owned 2. 08 Gallardo and 2015 Huracan. How does it feel? I will break this down into two parts–from an automotive/mechanical perspective and an emotional/human perspective.

fiona simpson hail

A 23-year-old mother was lauded as a ‘hero’ and ‘wonder woman’ for using her body to shield her infant daughter from a hail storm

It all happened when Fiona Simpson was driving back from a coffeeshop with her daughter and grandmother. “I wasn’t driving very fast because I couldn’t see very well… I couldn’t see in front of me, I couldn’t even see the line on the road,” Simpson told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Seeing the storm aggravating, she pulled over her vehicle to wait until it becomes a little favourable to drive again. However, it only escalated and it started to hail — blowing out a back-seat window of her car and putting her infant in danger, she informed The Project.
