What Is A Captain Save-A-Ho?

The expression, "Captain Save a Ho" is one coined and used by sex-workers, especially strippers, to designate the man who often comes into the club and, although he buys dances and utilizes dancers’ services, he is constantly trying to "save" them, although they never asked for such an intervention. His methods are always underhanded and suspicious, because he at once asks dancers, "Why are you in this business? You could so so much more. You could be somebody," while at the same time buying dance after dance and coming in night after night to enjoy their work. This type of customer is the least favorite amongst exotic dancers because his intrusive questions and holier-than-thou attitude is not at all welcomed by hard-working women who find it to be very condescending, patronizing, and hypocritical.

Confessions Of An Unattractive Woman Living In A Superficial World

I am ugly. I am unattractive. I know that my skin is awful, my hair is greasy, and society simply does not permit women to weigh as much as I do.

But, mind you, this is not the same as having low self-esteem. Because when I look in the mirror, I hate my body, not myself. I simply shake my head and think, “This isn’t me. This mediocre sack of meat isn’t me. I’m just renting it out, driving it around. It’s a tool. It’s a vehicle. I use it to take myself places that I need to go, and that’s all there is to it.”

Saint Bartholomew statue

This statue depicts Saint Bartholomew, an early Christian martyr who was allegedly skinned alive. If you look closely, you’ll notice that’s not a robe that he’s holding. It’s actually his dissected skin hanging around him. This statute is by Marco d’Agrate, c.1562.

Saint Bartholomew was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. After the Ascension, it’s said the saint traveled to the east, and then onto Greater Armenia. According to traditional hagiography, he was flayed and beheaded there for converting the king to Christianity. Some accounts attest that instead of getting flayed, Bartholomew was crucified upside down like Saint Peter.

22 Signs You’re Dating A Narcissist

narcissist red flags

1) Love bombing. They will rush intimacy and it may feel like you’re “soulmates” and have common interests, common goals. – they will “mirror back” what you are looking for. The relationship does not progress at a normal pace – it gets intense really quickly and feels all-consuming.

2) They have a big ego, act superior to you or others, crave power and control, are self-centered, and act entitled. They may exhibit jealousy at parties for other people, when others are celebrating their success, etc. They take control of conversations and always find a way to make it about them. They will boast about all their accomplishments when, in reality, they are false claims. They talk about the BIG plans they have for their future and how great it will be when XYZ and you realize that day never actually comes. The grass is always greener on the other side for them.

Unpacking Mona Lisa at the end of World War II, 1945

Unpacking Mona Lisa at the end of World War II, 1945

Hitler and his cronies had a wish list of works they planned to plunder from the countries they invaded, and Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world then and now, was at the top of the list. It was Jacques Jaujard, director of France’s National Museums, who thwarted Hitler’s scheme, pulled the wool over the eyes of the collaborationist tools of the Vichy government, and kept the Louvre’s contents, including the Mona Lisa, safe for the duration of the war.
