The Bull by Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso’s The Bull is a series of eleven lithographs created in 1945. It depicts the bull at various stages of abstraction, starting with a fairly realistic depiction and ending with nothing but a few lines.

“Picasso reduces the bull to a simple outline that is so carefully considered through the progressive development of each image, that it captures the absolute essence of the creature in as concise an image as possible.”

Six Healthy Habits Every Man Should Have

April 19, 2023

Habits can be healthy or problematic. They can range from hitting the gym to vegging on the couch; from learning a new language to endless procrastination; from telling ourselves that we’re worthy to beating ourselves up every time we make a mistake.

dachau prison guards

Walenty Lenarczyk, a prisoner at Dachau, stated that following the camp’s liberation "prisoners swarmed over the wire and grabbed the Americans and lifted them to their shoulders… other prisoners caught the SS men.

The first SS man elbowed one or two prisoners out of his way, but the courage of the prisoners mounted, they knocked them down and nobody could see whether they were stomped or what, but they were killed."

Before and after limb lengthening surgery

Lengthening works by separating the bone and distracting (pulling apart) the bone segments very slowly so that new bone continues to form in the gap. As the bone segments are slowly distracted, the bone regenerates, resulting in increased length. The device that performs the lengthening is called a fixator.

Success Is An Eternal Struggle

April 18, 2023

Your goal shouldn’t be the end result, but rather the struggle, pain, and excruciating process that leads to it. The goal itself won’t make you better, it’s the grind, the process, and the struggle that will sharpen you, strengthen you, and make you tougher.

The metaphor of success being a mountain with an end point is flawed. There is no end. Believing in an end will take you away from what’s making you better – the grind, the process, and the struggle of an ambitious life.
