After multiple disputes with his town Marvin Heemeyer constructed a concrete/steel armor-plated bulldozer “Killdozer” to destroy those who had sided against him. His rampage destroyed 13 buildings & was unstoppable by Police/SWAT until the dozer stalled. He killed himself & was the only casualty

Heemeyer’s bulldozer was a modified Komatsu D355A, which he referred to as the "MK Tank" in audio recordings, fitted with makeshift armor plating covering the cabin, engine, and parts of the tracks.

Could A Single M1 Abrams Survive An Entire SS Tank Battalion In 1940?

Assuming that all of their tanks were operational (unlikely) a German Heavy Tank Battalion in WWII had 45 tanks, with an additional 8–11 SPAAGs, 5 Recovery Vehicles, and 11 armored half tracks. These would be pretty much the entirety of what the Abrams would have to destroy without being disabled.

M82A91 “Silver Bullet” Tank Shell

For those that aren’t familiar, these are referred to as APFSDS shells (armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot). The working bit is an extremely long, extremely thin, extremely dense fin stabilized “dart” (the bright silver thing running up the middle), which is why they are also sometimes referred to as LRPs (long rod penetrators).

This is held centered in the barrel by a multi-piece “sabot” (the darker grey bit) that separates from the dart when it leaves the gun.

The sabot is made of relatively light material, but increases the surface area that the chamber pressure can work on, which means that the dart exits the barrel much much faster than it would with a smaller diameter barrel.
