My girlfriend is planning on going on a trip with her best friend. They met in college a year ago and are going to London to celebrate his birthday.

They were originally going to Australia, but the guy changed his mind and they decided to go to the UK, then France and probably other places afterwards. They’re staying in Europe for a month.

I don’t wanna be controlling or possessive, but a month is a bit too much. I asked her why she couldn’t bring other friends, I mean, it’s his birthday right? He should bring all of his friends. But no. They’re going together.

What Would You Do In A Situation Like This?

I used to have a wonderful relationship with the woman I love. However, five years ago, she got drunk, had a one night stand, and got pregnant from it. Can’t be mine, I can’t have kids due to a horseback riding injury when I was a teen. Didnt get the guys name, no way to find him, so he’s out of the picture. My wife decided to keep it, and we almost went through a divorce, but couples therapy made us decide to try again. We’re still in therapy now, since I still have a hard time trusting her.

My girlfriend and I were chatting and I said something like “I don’t know why he forgave her I would never forgive a cheater.”

She replied with “well maybe it was just the heat of the moment. Sometimes people commit affairs and still love their partner.”

Ever since she has said that I’ve felt uneasy about her. She reassured me that she hasn’t and would never cheat. But I just don’t know how someone can say something like that.

I just couldn’t understand how she could say “if you truly love them you would forgive them for cheating”

What made it worse for me when she kept trying to explain her answer to me and I just stared at her blankly. Eventually she tried to change the subject.
