Let me paint you a picture.

You go camping, and at mid-day you decide to take a nap in a nice little hammock. While sleeping, a tiny brown bat, in the “rage” stages of infection is fidgeting in broad daylight, uncomfortable, and thirsty (due to the hydrophobia) and you snort, startling him. He goes into attack mode.

Except you’re asleep, and he’s a little brown bat, so weighs around 6 grams. You don’t even feel him land on your bare knee, and he starts to bite. His teeth are tiny. Hardly enough to even break the skin, but he does manage to give you the equivalent of a tiny scrape that goes completely unnoticed.

What Would It Be Like To Sink To Crushing Depths Inside a Submarine?

Reaching crush depth wouldn’t be a slow crushing. Once the first deformations appear in the pressure hull, the whole thing caves very very fast, likely over the course of a couple seconds at most, depending on the pressure when it finally gives (44psi per hundred feet, at 1800 ft would yield almost 800psi, that’s a lot of pressure, and a massive release of energy once the hull finally gives.).

The strength of the hull comes from its shape more than material strength (though that does play a massive factor).

What feels slow, and would feel like an eternity, would be everything that leads up to crush depth.

How do people die in motor “accidents”?

I’ll tell you.

Some people explode — like a thin plastic envelope full of offal which has been hurled against a brick wall. No pain.

They put them on a sheet of canvas and pick it up at the corners like, as one tow truck driver described it: “A tub of guts”

I haven’t seen one of these.

Others die intact. Ruptured inside, you understand, but un-harmed to look at. There may be a thin, trickle of blood from an ear or nostril.

Life Isn’t All Sunshine And Rainbows

CJNG sicarios attempted to kill the police chief of Mexico City

Heavily armed gunmen attempted to assassinate Mexico City’s chief of police, Omar García Harfuch in Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City this morning. The gunmen reportedly used grenades and long weapon systems in the attack and launched the attack from a truck. Garcia Harfuch received three bullet wounds though he is stable. Initial reports suggest that two policemen were killed, two bodyguards are wounded and 12 perpetrators have been arrested at the time of writing, though details remain unconfirmed.

Cassie was murdered by two of her friends when she was alone, house sitting for family. The killers wanted to be prolific murderers and chose Cassie only because they knew she’d be alone.
