This is how much food you can get for the cost of a pack of cigarettes in Australia.

Beginning in September, a 25-pack of Marlboro Golds will cost AUD48.50 ($34), one of the highest prices in the world for a pack of cigarettes. The cheapest pack will be about AUD29 ($20).

This will be the eighth consecutive price increase as a part of the government’s attempt to reduce tobacco use.

Confessions Of A Chinese Restaurant Worker

How do all the Chinese takeout restaurants have the same menu? Is there some secret “American Chinese food” cookbook that everyone uses?

This is probably because everyone copies the success of another. And as a result, everyone expect all chinese takeout to have the same dishes. Its a cycle.

Every Chinese place near me has the exact same egg rolls. I mean like they look and taste EXACTLY the same. Same thing with a few other dishes like lo mein noodles, sesame chicken, etc. I assume there’s some food supplier in the area that they all get their stuff from. Any thoughts on this / how widespread is this?

There are usually 2-3 competing suppliers for every location, but all those suppliers stock the same products and its just the price that is different. Now to answer your question, there are premade egg rolls and I am sure places order those egg rolls because they don’t want to make their own. However, I am not sure how widespread it is. Even places that dont order the premade egg roll still have to order the veges to put in the egg rolls and that is the same regardless of where you go. And becauses egg rolls are so lightly seasoned and the veges are usually the same, rolls premade or not usually look and taste the same. There are small differences if you pay close attention, but usually people put such an abundance of extra sauce on it that they cant even taste the difference anyways.

The Real-Life Mowgli, The Boy Who In 1872 Was Found Living In Jungle. They found him hunting alongside the wolves and noted that he was walking on all four of his limbs.

Dina Sanichar was first discovered in 1867, after a band of hunters spied what they initially thought was a wild animal sleeping in the mouth of a cave in Bulandshahr district, India.

When the men finally smoked the creature out its hiding place, they were astonished to find it was actually a boy of around 6 years old. The child appeared to have been living in the wilderness for most of his life, and had allegedly survived by scampering on all fours with a pack of wolves.

1. I found out last week that my cancer is progressing faster than was previously thought. I thought I had some years, maybe a decade left. I have 2 years, maybe 5, now. I won’t see my kids graduate high school or college, find real love or find themselves, and I’ll never meet my grandkids. I’ve made peace with it – to some extent, but an accelerated timeline took me quite by surprise.

In 1971, 17-year-old Juliane Koepcke was sucked out of an airplane after it was struck by a bolt of lightning. She fell two miles to the ground strapped to her seat and survived. She spent the next 11 days alone in the Amazon jungle before being rescued by a logging team.

On Christmas Eve, 1971, Koepcke boarded LANSA Flight 508 (a Lockheed L-188A Electra turboprop plane) with her mother and 84 other passengers. The flight left from Lima, Peru, and was scheduled to land in Pucallpa, Peru, but was struck by a bolt of lighting. The plane went into a nose dive, broke into pieces, and Koepcke, who was still strapped to her seat, soon found herself outside of the plane plummeting approximately 9,000 feet (about 1.7 miles) into the Amazon jungle.

Over 40 years ago I was a young boy, the future still a thing of excitement and mystery. Who would I be? What would I do? Where would I go? Everything was still possible. But I squandered my potential and wasted my life.

I didn’t know it at the time, but the way my parents treated me scarred me deeply. They gave me all the toys a boy could want. But I have no memory of being hugged. I have no memory of them ever telling me something I did was good. I would show them a picture I drew and they would say “Not now.” They made me feel worthless, useless, unwanted. My mother would play sadistic games where she’d frighten me and then laugh when I cried out of fear. My father was brooding and unapproachable, quick to temper and irritated by my presence.
