Annie Sullivan arrived at Helen Keller’s house on March 5, 1887, a day Keller would forever remember as ‘my soul’s birthday’.
Sullivan immediately began to teach Helen to communicate by spelling words into her hand, beginning with “d-o-l-l” for the doll that she had brought Keller as a present.

Sarah Biffen (1784 – 1850) was a Victorian English painter born with no arms and only vestigial legs. She nevertheless taught herself to write, paint, sew, and use scissors with her mouth. This is a self- portrait she painted using her teeth.
Sarah Biffen was born in 1784 to a family of farmers in East Quantoxhead, Somerset, with no arms and undeveloped legs. Despite her handicap, Biffen learned to read, and later was able to write using her mouth.
Around the age of 13, her family apprenticed her to a man named Emmanuel Dukes, who exhibited her in fairs and sideshows throughout England.
At some point during the time, she learnt to paint holding the paint-brush in her mouth. During this period, she held exhibitions, sold her paintings and autographs, and took admission fees to let others see her sew, paint and draw.
She drew landscapes or painted portrait miniatures on ivory with contemporaries praising her skill. Her miniatures were sold for three guineas each, however, Biffen may have received as little as £5 a year while she was with Dukes.

The scene is legendary because it caused her to storm off set and threaten not to finish the film if James Cameron forced her to do any more takes.
In the scene, Mastrantonio’s character, Lindsey, has just drowned and been hauled back to the oil rig, and her husband Bud (Ed Harris), along with their crew mates, are trying to revive her. Mastrantonio was soaking wet and freezing cold, lying on a metal grate. Her shirt was torn and her breasts exposed, and Harris had to shake her, scream at her, and repeatedly slap her across the face (to which she, of course, could not react, and had to play dead).

The car of a missing college student and skeletal remains were found in Georgia this week in an unsolved four-decade-old missing persons case, authorities said on Wednesday.
On January 27, 1976, 22-year-old Kyle Clinkscales was last seen leaving a bar in LaGrange, Georgia in his white 1974 Pinto Runabout to head back to Auburn University for classes.
Clinkscales never arrived on campus and was never seen or heard from again.
On Dec. 8, law enforcement confirmed they had found Clinkscales’ car in a creek off County Road 83 near Cusseta, Alabama in Chambers County.
The car’s identification matched the 1974 Ford Pinto Runabout that Clinkscales was last seen driving.
While going through the car, 50 different skeletal remains were recovered, along with a wallet — with identification and credit cards.
