Health and fitness for most men either relies on strength training and/or running. There is a good reason for this.

The benefits of lifting weights for increased self-esteem, physical and mental toughness, not to mention looking great, are well known. All men should do it, and if you aren’t why not? Get motivated and get back in the gym.

With that said, weightlifting and occasionally pounding the streets or treadmill shouldn’t be the only exercise you do. There should always be room for other things that bring something new (and awesome) to the table.

Huichol Indian men tie ropes around their testicles when their wives are giving birth. When she feels a painful contraction, she tugs on the rope so her husband will share some of the pain as part of their child’s entrance into the world.

According to the Huichol tradition, when a woman had her first child the husband squatted in the rafters of the house, or in the branches of a tree, directly above her, with ropes attached to his scrotum. As she went into labor pain, the wife pulled vigorously on the ropes, so that her husband shared in the painful, but ultimately joyous, experience of childbirth.

According to the American Psychological Association, “There is no evidence that any pattern of physiological reactions is unique to deception. An honest person may be nervous when answering truthfully and a dishonest person may be non-anxious.”

Polygraphs don’t actually detect anything meaningful except that the person is under stress – and simply being given a polygraph is sufficient to trigger the stress.

Even the creator of the machines stated that they were bunk. They’re purely a prop for interrogators.
