My mother was the daughter of my father. Impossible though might sound, she was not raped. From what she’s told me and what I saw myself, their relationship was loving and healthy, or as healthy as it could have been I guess.
Technically, inbreeding doesn’t cause genetic disorders. What inbreeding in fact does is 1) restrict variation in the gene pool and 2) increase the likelihood of recessive alleles being expressed.
There are two types of genes: dominant and recessive. Dominant genes always actually affect your body. Recessive ones only show up if you receive them from both parents.
