What Makes The AK-47 One Of The Most Reliable Guns In The World?

The tolerances(spaces between moving parts) in the AK are loose. There’s lots of room for gunk and dirt to get in there and the gun will still fire and cycle when the trigger is pulled. With loose tolerances, failure to properly clean and lube the weapon won’t hinder it from firing like the M-16 from the Vietnam era.

In addition the AK uses a gas piston technology rather than direct impingement. Both systems use the gas from the recently fired round to load the next round. With the AK the gas is directed to a piston rather than directly at the bolt carrier. This keeps the bolt cleaner and results in less jams. However, it creates additional movement not present in the direct method and therefore sacrifices accuracy.

Loyal Dog Won’t Leave Spot Where Owner Died In Car Crash 18 Months Ago, So Locals Built Him A Home

A loyal dog in Greece recently melted the hearts of millions around the world after it was reported that it has spent the last 18 months at a roadside shrine where his owner tragically lost his life in a traffic accident.

Nicknamed the “Greek Hachiko” as a reference to the Japanese dog that famously waited for its owner, Hidesaburō Ueno, at Shibuya Station in Tokyo every day – even after his death in 1925, turning up as usual until his own death almost 10 years later, the unnamed white dog has reportedly been living at a roadside shrine near the Greek town of Nafpaktos for the last year and a half. Despite several the efforts of several locals to adopt the dog, he keeps escaping and always returns to the place where his owner lost his life in a car crash.
