Something a lot of people, especially younger people, don’t realize about hearing loss is how much MORE there is to it than just “needing to listen to things louder when you’re old” or “some ringing” to varying degrees.
My father has hearing loss which he incurred on the job – he was a radio DJ in the 60s/70s and between the sound levels at work and the sound levels at concerts he went to for reviewing purposes, he did permanent damage to his hearing. Tinnitus is one element, hearing loss of certain frequencies is another.

Because the church as a whole encourages young marriage for a few reasons, some spiritual and some practical. I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who was raised in a very traditional Pentecostal church. A lot of what I say can translate to other denominations also but they may not be as strict as what I grew up on.
1. COURTSHIP “POLICY”: The longer you date or court someone is the more likely that you will engage in sexual activity before marriage…a sin known as FORNICATION!! It’s very normal for a couple to literally date for only 6 months and the pastor will give them the green light to get married. That seems unheard of but it’s VERY common in the traditional church! Long courtships are STRONGLY discouraged!
The most important difference between 1944 and today would be in the realm of guided munitions.
I once heard that a single F-15 packs as much firepower as an entire squadron of World War II–era bombers when you take into account explosive weight and the percentage of ordnance you can get on target. (Keep in mind, the F-15 is a fighter/bomber, not a dedicated bomber. If we start talking about the B-52, things get even crazier.)

Sadly the US pulling back on it’s military will make the world a more dangerous place.
Currently, the world is enjoying the longest single period of General Peace ever. Since the end of World War Two, the number of people who have died in a war is now just low, it’s at an all time low.
Occam’s razor is often misstated as “the simplest answer is the correct one,” but it should more accurately be “the simplest answer is the best starting point to investigate.”
The idea is that the more different variables or assumptions have to add up to get to a solution, the more difficult it is to investigate, and the less likely it is to occur in general. “Entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity.” is the classical way to state it.
In business generally the way that one company takes over another is through negotiations, contracts, and payment. Look at it like this: Company A wants to obtain Company B. Company A and B begin having discussions where Company A outlines all of the advantages of being acquired by Company A (e.g. easier access to resources, streamlined processes, a stronger legal department to protect against lawsuits, etc.) until eventually an agreement is made and Company A takes over Company B.

Here’s how this theory goes. If a society gets advanced enough they would eventually be able to create a simulation of their universe that would be extensive enough to cover everything down to subatomic particles.
Once a society gets this advanced, eventually they are going to run such a simulation, to test theories on universal evolution, or even societal evolution. Maybe even theories on sentience itself.
Burning fuel can produce several toxic gases. A catalytic converter is a device that takes those toxic gases and converts them into less toxic gases.
For example, it converts Carbon monoxide into Carbon Dioxide, and Nitric Acid into Nitrogen and Oxygen (and a few other reactions).
In order to do this, it needs some precious metals which act as catalysts for the reactions. These metals don’t get consumed, but their presence helps to trigger these reactions. A catalytic converter will contain Rhodium, Platinum, and Palladium.
