What happens when we die? Ramin Nazer’s comic “After You Die” answers that very question.
It’s a brilliantly-done look at the various after-death scenarios posed by world religions, science and philosophy. The comic covers the many possible futures that await a human being upon shuffling off this mortal coil. Never has existential dread looked so colorful!
The great question of what happens when we die has been asked by every human being that has ever lived. That means billions and billions.
In that time, people have come up with all kind of answers. Some of them seem to make sense. A lot of them don’t. A lot of them are just plain crazy.
The truth is, nobody really knows what happens when we die.
Mystics have come up with all kinds of scenarios. Scenarios where we meet spiritual beings and have to answer for what we did in life. But they don’t know for sure.
Most scientists think that nothing happens when we die. That consciousness just stops. But they don’t know for sure.
Average people probably just try not to think about it. Death is scary. Being uncertain is scary.
That’s probably why people make up so many stories about what happens when we die. They want certainty. They want to feel good about it. Or at least not be freaked out.
Only one thing’s for sure, though. That’s that we’ll all find out when we get there.
The other thing that’s for sure is that nobody has returned to tell us for sure.
Ramin Nazer’s comic sums up all of the different afterlife scenarios that may face us. It’s awesome. Check it out below!
