Shell shocked soldier hiding at a fireworks show
Years away from home, family and friends.
Stoically faced horrendous working conditions.
Made it through 120+ degree days.
Routinely carried 70+ pounds of gear.
Saw friends and compatriots die.
Had to kill people.
Came home to a population that could never really understand.
So traumatized that fireworks are now terrifying.
Still proudly wears the uniform.
